Monkey Shoulder Penicillin

A modern classic cocktail that beautifully showcases the different personalities of Scotch Whisky.

Ingredients

35ml Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whisky

20ml Honey-Ginger Syrup*

25ml Lemon Juice

Dash of Peated Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Method

  • Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker
  • Shake well with ice
  • Strain over fresh ice in a whisky glass
  • Garnish with candied ginger and a wedge of fresh lemon

*Honey-Ginger Syrup

  • Equal parts honey and water
  • Half a cup of sliced or grated fresh ginger
  • Combine ingredients in a pot and simmer until honey is dissolved and ginger has infused to the desired level of intensity.
  • Store in a clean bottle and keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks
